LifeWatches

Are you a "history buff?" Do you want to keep track of events that happened, for example, going to the doctor, your childs high school graduation, etc.?

LIfeWatches does all of this simply and reliably. It has a beautiful, minimalist user interface that doesnt clutter your screen.

This app lets you track events by using multiple running timers. You can:

• set the timer name.
• set a colored tag to track the timer visually.
• set one of the following timer types:
⁃ date: the date/time the timer was created.
⁃ seconds: the time in seconds since the timer was created.
⁃ minutes: the time in minutes since the timer was created.
⁃ hours: the time in hours since the timer was created.
⁃ days: the time in days since the timer was created.
⁃ years: the time in years since the timer was created.
• change the type of a running timer.
• reset a running timer to another date/time.

For example, suppose you want to see how many days since the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941. Just create a "years" timer, then reset it to that date. The app will display the reset date and it will then update the number of years and days every year. Now, lets say you want to find out the number of days since the attack. Just click on that row and choose Set, change the timer type to "days" and click on "+". Now the row in the table will show the number of days and will update every day.

Note: LifeWatches uses the current time zone set from System Preferences for its calculations. In order to be completely accurate, make sure you set a time as well as a date when doing a reset. For example, if you start a year timer at 4:00 pm on December 7, 2015, and you want the exact number of days from Pearl Harbor, you must reset to 4:00 pm, December 7,1941.

LifeWatches v.2.0 adds the ability to sort the timers either by start time or manually using the built in editor (which can also be used to delete timers). The user interface has also been improved and several bugs have been fixed. To sort the timers by date, click on the Date portion of the segmented control in the screen header. This brings up a down arrow on the far left. To change to a sort from earliest to latest timer, hit this arrow. The arrow changes to a down arrow and if you hit this the timers will be sorted from latest to earliest. To switch back to Manual sort, hit the Manual portion the segmented control. This allows you to re-order and delete timers (hit the Edit button).

v.2.0.2 adds the ability to view a log of reset history for each timer. To get this, tap on the row in the first screen for that timer, then at the Detail screen tap on the Last Reset text field and hit Enter. This will display the Reset History screen where you can view the chronological history of resets and delete any that you want to.

We would greatly appreciate a review if you like the app!
